His gaze was on me making me shake in my boots or my heels or flats. Someone pinched me because I think I’m dreaming. Tell me I did not just spill coffee on my boss. Oh God of mercy, I know I’m clumsy and don’t deserve your help but please save me.
I blink my eye lids open oblivious of the fact that they had been closed this whole time. When I open them, he’s gone.
I considered the possibility that I might have been imagining this but my coffee Is spilled on the floor and almost everyone is staring at me making me nervous.
“Why are y’all looking at me huh! Do I have clown make up or what!”
They all avert their eyes almost immediately making me hiss lowly. Maybe he was too angry to fire me on the spot, I’m so dead.
Lunch break was over so I dragged my feets back to my office expecting to see my things piled up in a box. There’s no way I could get through this one now. Absolutely no way.
He calls out making me shriek, turning to meet his gaze. The next words I expected to hear from him was nothing more than..
“Pack your things.”
Instead, he said this…
“Set an appointment for my production section, I need to have a meeting with them. Don’t forget, I’ll need to remember tomorrow morning.”
My mouth falls open at his request, he didn’t talk about the issue during lunch instead he’s talking to me like I still work for him.
Why am I not getting fired!
“Umm, yes sir. I’ll get right on it.”
“Good, report to me when you’re done.”
He turns away and walks towards the other direction. I fall to my seat trying to catch my breath.
“I can’t be this lucky. Moreso, he didn’t say a word about it. Maybe he’s angry with me or something. He’ll probably fire me later on.”
I quickly does what he requests and by the time I’m done with some other things, the clock strikes 4pm. Guilt washes over me as I gather my things, I can’t seem to get it off my chest. I need to talk to him.
I look outside and it seems like it’s going to rain making it hard to get a cab. I guess I’ll have to wait till it stops. I check on Damon and he’s still in his office, making a phone call.
Patiently waiting for Damon and the rain to stop, it takes about an hour more. I wonder what kind of business call takes that long.
I muster up all the courage I can find and March to his office. He looks up clearly surprised that I’m still here.
“Aren’t you going home Miss Salvatore.”
“I am Sir but I just have to say something first.”
“Hmm, and I thought at least one P.A would go through one day without doing that?”
“Doing what?” I ask confused.
“Confessing your love to me and offering yourself up or something. I can’t put up with pretty much anything you do except trying to make advances at me. I really thought you’d be different, I guess I was wrong.” He says making my blood boil.
“Are you kidding me right now?”
“Why that, I’m going to give him a piece of my mind.” I thought folding my fists and glaring at him.
