This time, I didn’t let myself get drowned by how nice his lips felt against mine or how amazing of a kisser he actually was, I simply placed my hands on his chest and pushed him off before we could go any further.
I took deep breaths and got control of myself.
“Mr O’Cornner. This cannot happen again please just……”
I trailed off exhaling.
I finished and walked away.
“I’m sorry I have to go.”
I got my bag from our table and literally ran out of the restaurant.
I hailed a cab giving him directions to my apartment. It would cost much but I didn’t mind that right now, I just wanted to go home.
I muttered to the driver handing him a few dollar notes before dragging my Limp body into my house.
“Seems like someone had a long day.”
I jumped up in fright at the sound of Van’s voice literally two feets away from me.
“What the f**k are you doing in my home!”
I thundered in rage. My eyes were turning red and I wanted to kill the scum bag.
“Haven’t I made it clear that I do not want anything to do with you. We’re going in circles Van. Break that circle and leave me alone. Go home to your wife please.”
I begged, my voice cracking at the end.
“I want to but I just can’t. I’m addicted to you and I bet you feel the same way.”
“You’ll loose that bet. A lot of time has passed I’m not the same naive secretary I once was so do not be deceived.”
“Yeah I can tell but you’re still the same in my eyes you’re just trying to pull up a cover, I can tell that you’re still the same.”
He took two steps towards me and I did the same in the opposite direction.
“You’re still that same girl who I would bend over my desk. Remember that.”
He reached over gently stroking my cheeks.
“You’re an animal.”
I growled out.
“I remember how you used to beg me to go faster. Yeah, I am an animal.”
He chuckled and I cringed in disgust.
“Come on Elena. You’ve fought long enough. Just give in and I bet you’ll realise how much you’ve missed it.”
He said trying to kiss me. My head sparked up and his words and I reached for the pepper spray in my bag. I emptied it’s content into his eyes while he recoiled in pain moving backwards.
“You’re a worthless piece of sh*t.”
I spat out kicking him where the sun doesn’t shine.
“Get out of my house.”
I shoved him forward taking advantage of the fact that he couldn’t see.
“I swear I’ll sue your ass if you come back here. Consider this our breakup if you still had it in your twisted mind that we’re together or something. This is my final goodbye.”
I slammed the door shut slumping to the floor at the other side.
“I think I just jumped out of the cycle.”
I thought to myself chuckling lightly.
I cursed once again before getting up to freshen up a little.
