I spent the rest of the day being freakishly bored. I got a calendar and marked the days I have been working for.
27 more days till I get my first salary and leave this place. Until then the goal is the same, the rules only changed. Go by undetected, today was a narrow escape from Van I only hope it’s the first and last.
Van is just a part of my past I’m not ready to discuss yet or ever.
I sighed defeatedly reaching under my bed for my box. I took it out and stared at the pictures touching our faces. It seemed just like yesterday but it takes a second to ruin what it took years to build.
And sometimes, it can never be rebuilt, it’s just gone. I carefully placed it back under the bed and tucked myself to sleep.
THE NEXT DAY
I woke up moderately early and got straight to getting ready for work. I decided to go with a jumpsuit feeling a little daring. Did a little make up, got my things and left the house in record time.
I reached the office and again that receptionist was giving me the cold look. I highly doubt she’ll ever forget me in her life. I have that effect on people I guess.
I got to the elevator and took it to my floor getting into my office sighing in relief, I hadn’t done anything clumsy in at least 12 hours but now that I just said it, I’m officially jinx but let’s keep our fingers crossed.
I had a day’s work to get on so I started immediately. It wasn’t much but it could take a while.
A cup of coffee was placed on my desk, I looked up to find Justin staring at me with a smile plastered on his face.
“Thanks for this” I said in appreciation.
“I only hope you don’t spill it on me. Again.” He joked earning a grin from me.
I sipped lightly from the coffee simultaneously working.
“So, do you think we could reschedule dinner say today?” He asked casually making me freeze.
Wait a minute, does Justin like me or something? I literally stained him the first time we met, he’s trying to get me fired according to him so why act sweet all of a sudden.
“Yeah, I’d love to.” I respond remembering I owe him one anyways.
“Good, I’ll pick you up at your place…”
“No!” I exclaimed.
“I’ll meet you up somewhere.” I added and he stared at me suspiciously.
“Alright then. That’s great.”
“Elena Salvatore!” I heard a farmilar girly scream.
“Who’s that?” He asked and I smirked. The door burst open and Jenny walked in looking furious.
“I am going to teach you a lesson you’ll never forget!” She shrieked.
“No one, I repeat no one saves you from me today. You messed with the wrong woman and I’m here to make sure you never forget it.” She adds shooting daggers at me.
“You took the words right out of my mouth….” I responded staring at her….
