Previously On Dirty Diana
“So, did I live up to your standards?”
“No not really, you were working my sister way too hard on her first day of training,”
“Well, if she want to lose the weight she has to push herself for the next six months
“Well, the first day of training is over,”
“I’m feeling good,
“Good, well you can rest for the day, but tomorrow, we start again.”
“Great,”
A few seconds later in walked my little sister, Lily, and my dad right behind.
“Sabby!” Lily said running up the stairs to me. Yes, ‘Sabby’ was her little nickname for me ever since she could first speak.
“Really? She told you everything?”
“Yes, Diana. Why didn’t you tell us the kids at school were teasing you?”
“So Lily, want to go see Kwesi?”
“Big bro, is home?”
You want to surprise him?”
“Dad, we’ll be in the media room?”
“Sure, have fun. I’ll be looking for your mother,” he said with a loving smile and a small wave goodbye.

I walked into the media room to find that I was correct in assuming that everyone had come here. Banahene was sitting next to Diva, while Kwesi sat on the othervside of her.
They were watching a horror movie on the big screen while eating popcorn and drinking sodas. They still hadn’t noticed that Lily and I had walked in, so I decided that now was a good time to pay my brother back for being so annoyingly protective today.
“Hey, Lily want to scare Kwesi?” I whispered to her.
She placed a hand over her mouth to cover a giggle and whispered back, “Sure.”
“Alright on the count of three, we say boo, got it?”
“ok!” she said smiling.
I grinned and picked her up to quietly tiptoe over to where everyone was sitting. When we got directly behind Kwesi I held up my fingers and silently counted to three.
“Boo!” we both screamed out in unison.
Both Kwesi and Banahene jumped a little from the sound, while Diva continued watching the movie; unaffected.
“What the hell!?” Kwesi yelled, turning around, clearly angry as his face was red with anger. As soon as he saw us though, his expression brightened. “Lily! I didn’t know you were home.”
“Yup!” she exclaimed, giving him her adorable smile.
“Come here and let your big bro give you a bear hug.” he grinned, opening up his arms for her.
“Is that your little sister?” I turned my attention to Banahene and nodded affirmation. “She’s cute,” he said with a small smile.
“Yeah, she is,” I said smiling back. Then, reflecting on how he had jumped, I became a little sheepish. “And, um… sorry for scaring you earlier. We thought it would be funny to sneak up on Kwesi.”
“No problem… and you didn’t scare me,” he lied, his eyes drifting to the side.
“Sure I didn’t…” I said rolling my eyes at him. Before he could protest I changed the subject. “So what movie are you guys watching?”
“Um, I think it’s called The Roommate,” he said, turning his attention back to the screen.
“Oh, yeah I’ve seen that. It was pretty good.”
“Well so far, I like it. Do you want to sit by me?” he asked pointing to the seat next to him.
“Uh, well…” I began before Kwesi interrupted me.
“Dee, sit over here, with Lily and me,” he called rather loudly and pointedly patting the seat next to him.
“Yeah! Sabby, sit with me!” Lily exclaimed, giving me her puppy dog eyes.
God, I can’t say no to that, not when it’s Lily. I gave Banahene an apologetic look and he nodded, letting me know it was alright.

Mr Lecturer
“You are kidding right?. I can’t believe you just made that silly joke” i replied with shock. She rolled her eyes, grabbed her handbag and a fetched out a piece of paper from it.
“here is the test result” she said, offering me the paper which i refused to accept. Instead, i stood up and stared at her furiously.
“i don’t know the game you are trying to play here but if it’s more money that you want from me just spill it out” i barked. She stared at me and breathed deeply.
“why do you always think that everything is all about money?. You got me pregnant and you have to take the responsibility” she breathed strongly.
“this was never part of our agreement” i reminded her.
“yea it never was but i’m now pregnant for you. I didn’t put the pregnancy in there by myself. You did” she accused.
I bit my lips and backed her.
I couldn’t believe my ears. I couldn’t even remember sleeping with her without protection.
“what you are doing isn’t right Comfort. You know i never slept with you without protection” i reminded her.
“yea you are right, but maybe you failed to notice that one of the condoms you used on me had a leakage or something. I’m no virgin Mary. You got me pregnant and we have to make plans for the baby” she defended herself.
“you said “we”?. You must be out of your mind involving me” i screamed.
“you have to find a way of making plans for me and equally open up to your wife before this thing comes out public. I won’t hide the truth when people starts asking questions

I went around the rows of chairs until I was next to Kwesi. I took a seat, and started watching the rest of the movie.
Lily was young and by the time the movie was over, she was asleep on Kwesi’s lap. “I’ll be right back, I have to bring Lily to her room,” Kwesi whispered, gathering Lily up in his arms.
“Alright then,
“Bye Dee,” he said smiling at me, and then he looked at Banahene giving him the classic, big brother ‘you-better-not-flirt-with-my-sister-while-I’m-not-here’ look before leaving the media room.
“So, what now?” Diva asked as soon as he left.
“Mmm, don’t know,” I said shrugging my shoulders.
“When do you have to be home?” I asked turning to Banahene
“Didn’t your mom tell you?”
“Tell me what?”
“That, I’m staying here at your house, until your training is over. Your mom thought it would be a great idea,” he explained, eyebrows raised.
“Wait, what!?” I ignored Diva’s surprised whistle and focused on this new tidbit. He was staying here! In my house?
“I thought your mom told you!” he answered in response to my accusatory tone.
“No, she never did.” I shook my head in annoyance and filed a mental note to talk to my mom later… Oh and wait until Kwesi hears this, he’s not going to be happy…

Mr Lecturer
She threatened seriously. I simply eyed her and stormed out of the hotel room while she ran after me, catching up with me at the hallway. She strongly grabbed my left hand, forcing me to stop.
“this isn’t like the last time you walked out on me. The baby i’m carrying is ours and there isn’t anything you can do to deny it” she said quickly.
“i have a wife Comfort and i can’t make you my second wife” i said to her, snatching my hand from her grasp.
“I hope you know what you are doing?. I won’t bring up this issue with you again but don’t come crying when the consequences come crashing at your door step” she threatened, eyed me and left the building.
I just didn’t know what to do or which way to go. I badly needed a child but not from her. I couldn’t help but think of my wife’s reaction if she discovers what i had done.
“no there must be a way out” i breathed. There wasn’t anyway i was going to allow Comfort to be the mother of my first child.
“what if she ends up giving me a boy?. That would be total calamity, my family will never have peace again. Of course we are in Africa where the first male child of a man is most times the heir to everything, whether legitimately born or not” i reasoned fearfully.
“oh my God no” i breathed, very uncertain of my future.

I looked over at Diva, and saw that her eyes were a little wide as well. At least that means that she wasn’t aware that he would be staying at my house either.
“Well, I am, my room is on the third floor, fourth door on the right,” he recited before smiling at me. “Just letting you know.”
“Alright,” I said awkwardly before turning to Diva, “so are you going to sleep over tonight too, or are you going home?”
“Oh, I’m so staying over! I don’t want to miss anything,” she said winking in Banahene’s direction. God, I hope that Kwesi doesn’t find out.
“Alright then, well it’s probably almost dinner time,” I told them, trying to change the subject. “You guys hungry?”
“Cool. I am,” he said.
“Yeah, so am I. What’s for dinner?” Diva chimed in.
“I don’t know. I guess we should head to the kitchen to ask Mr. Baker.”
They agreed and we walked out of the media room and went down stairs, to the first floor. Once we got into the kitchen we found my brother and my parents.
“Hey, is Lily asleep?” I asked my brother.
“Yeah, She was out cold,” he said with a laugh.
I smiled, knowing Lily had had a long day, before turning to my parents. “Are you eating with us tonight?”
“I ate with Lily before we came home so I’m not really hungry. Your mom just ate too,” my dad answered.
“Oh, well then I guess it’s just us eating dinner tonight,” I said with a shrug before moving towards the kitchen. I was stopped by the sound of my brother’s voice though.
“What do you mean us” Kwesi asked, his tone sounding dangerous. I swallowed and paused before slowly turning towards my brother.
“Um, well…you see…Banahene is staying here with us until my training is over…?” I mumbled quickly under my breath, trying not to cringe under my brother’s hard stare.
“What!” he yelled, jumping up from his seat and glaring at me. I nodded my head slowly in response, trying not to look at him or Banahene. My brother turned angrily to my parents.
“Mom, Dad, you can’t be serious, right?” Kwesi asked, sounding a little desperate.
“No, I’m afraid we are. Why? You don’t like Banahene?” My mom asked, concerned that she’d made a wrong choice in trainers.
“Well, no it’s not that. It’s just that I don’t trust him sleeping in the same house with Dee.”
“Don’t worry sweetheart, his room is on the third floor, which is close to our room, so he wouldn’t be able to get to Diva’s room without us knowing,” my mom said politely, trying to calm him down. It seemed to work a little as he took in a deep breath and sat back down.
“Alright fine, but I’m not happy about it,” he grumbled, crossing his arms. In order to appease him, Banahene chimed in as well.
“Kwesi, you don’t have to worry, I’m not like that. Plus I already told you I’m dating someone, remember?”
Banahene has a girlfriend? I didn’t see that one coming…well, maybe I did. I mean he’s hot. So it makes sense that he has a girlfriend. In fact, his girlfriend was probably really pretty; like a supermodel or something.
“Yeah, so?” Kwesi asked, obviously not feeling any more comfortable with him.
“So, I won’t do anything to your sister. Plus I only like her as a little sister, like you do,” he explained.
Of course, I was hoping for a little more, but I guess Banahene thinking of me as a little sister would probably be better in the long run.
“Whatever,” Kwesi replied, turning his back on him.
Feeling uncomfortable in the tense silence I cleared my throat. “Um, let’s just eat dinner, shall we?”
“Fine,” Kwesi and my trainer said in unison before Kwesi glared at him. Yeah….I can tell that the next six months is going to be so much fun!
…….Note the sarcasm.
A little while later Mom and Dad both went up to their rooms and Diva, Banahene, Kwesi, and I began eating our dinner.
Mr. Baker served everyone a delicious looking pizza, except for me. I had a chicken salad (which actually didn’t taste too bad) since I was eating healthily from now on. After we finished eating we all headed upstairs, into our rooms, for a good night sleep, including my trainer
