I glanced to my right, seeing my reflection in the vast mirror that was hung up in the venue room where I was getting ready, along with my bridesmaids and maid of honour.
Today was today.
It was the big day for me.
The biggest day of my life.
Well, night of my life.
Tonight was the day my last name would be changed forever.
Tonight was my wedding night.
“Breathe.” Shana commanded, as she turned my face to the mirror in front of me.
I was sitting on a white velvet, seat which was embellished with intricate designs.
Not to mention, it was fairly comfy.
And I’m going crazy, considering I’m thinking about the seat for god damn!
Shana kissed my cheek,
“My best friend is getting married!” She squealed.
“And you look beautiful today than you have ever looked before. And that’s a lot, considering you are already the most beautiful girl I have ever met before.” She babbled on, as I laughed.
“Shut up, shan.” I giggled, then sighed.
“You know, I’m too young. But, I have no regrets.”
“Obviously!” Sarah, Jane, and Ashely ran up behind me.
“Cause you are like so in love with kyle.” Sarah gushed, teasingly.
“Okay, so after you get married, and when you have babies, name one of them after me, okay?” Jane piped in, pointing a finger at me.
I shook my head, blushing.
“Gee, I am only twenty, Jane.”
“So?” Ashely remarked.
“Doesn’t mean you can’t be a mo…”
“For God’s sake, can’t you guys see?!” Shana cut them off.
“You are making her even more nervous. The poor girl is only getting married today. And if consummation were to happen, that’s her business, not ours.”

The girls chuckled, as I sat in deep embarrassment.
I began to play with the hem of my wedding dress nervously.
From my point of view, I loved the dress.
Mum was fangirling over it so much, the same for other girls.
I hadn’t shown any of the guys the dresses yet, obviously.
Not even my dad.
Speaking of guys, my brother had come home for the wedding two days earlier.
He came along with his wife and they are expecting a baby.
I was so overwhelmed.
Frankly, I broke down right when I saw him.
I mean, come on.
He is my older brother.
My best friend. (Other than Michael and Shana).
And I haven’t seen him in three years now.
In fact, I still can’t believe he came.
I mean, yeah, it’s my wedding, but still…when you see someone after so long, it ends to be a shock for a long time.
“Baby?” Mum’s voice rang through the door after she knocked.
I mumbled, “Mhm!” Back to her, and the girls left the room, leaving me all alone.
I stared back at my reflection one last time.
This would be the final time I will see myself as Kiara Arthur.
I wouldn’t be that after I say those two words tonight.
I let out a deep breath, standing up and making my way out of the door.
I walked down the hallway, to the front, putting my hand on the handle of the double doors.
Just outside was the reception revenue.
I bit my lip, looking through the window and seeing my dad waiting by the doors outside, waiting to walk me down the aisle.
Everyone was waiting.
Waiting for me to come out of hiding.
