Kiara p.o.v

I looked around awkardly in silence, around the kitchen at nothing specific.

I tried to ignore the intense, blank stare he was giving me.

Kyle was sitting across from me, on the breakfast stool things in our kitchen island.

I grabbed my mug and dug my face into it, hoping he wouldn’t see me. He’s been looking at me like that for the longest time.

When he woke up, he didn’t say anything.

He just stared at me like he was trying to figure me out.

I peeked back up again, only to look back down.

He was still staring.

It went like that for a while longer until he finally said something.

“Are you alright?”

I looked up at him, weirdly.

“Yeah. Why do you ask?”

Kyle sighed,

“Where did you and the girls go to yesterday?” He asked me, his voice full if curiosity.

He completely ignored my question.

“Um, ” I began.

“We went to the mall, then Starbucks, and then ..and then they drop me off”. I trailed off, not bringing me up the incident that had happened.

Kyle nodded,

” so, it was just you, Shana and the others, right?” He raised an eyebrow towards me.

Did he not trust me or something?

“Yeah, why?” I inquired, wondering where all his questions came from.

He ran his fingers through his hair, before glancing back at me again.

“Can you come here, please?” He called me.

I got off my place and walked to where he was, ready to take the seat beside him until he pulled me into his lap.

He kissed my cheek, my right cheek.

I winced slightly at the touch of his lips.

It stung, not that badly, but badly enough for it to hurt a lot.

Kyle let his lips linger there for a while, and I could feel him eyeing me while doing so, he kissed my cheek again, a little rougher this time.

And I felt twice the pain I felt there before.

“Why would you do that?” He whisphered, pecking my jawline.

“What do you mean?”

“You flinched. Why would you do that?” He asked again.

I bit my lip, thinking of a way to answer that.

I didn’t want him to find out, anyway.

It wasn’t such a bug deal, what happened.

I didn’t think he needed to know is about it, either.

It was my matter and I don’t want him getting too involved in that incident.

“Huh?” He pressed.
“You are not saying anything?”

I shrugged shaking my head.

“I don’t even know, actually it just hurts a little. That’s all. ” I lied.

What else was I suppose to say?

Kyle didn’t say anything else for a few minutes and I thought he was mad at me or something.

So, I started poking his cheek playfully.

“Do you not trust me or something?” He suddenly rose his voice, furrowing his eyes brows.

“Kyle, shut up. I don’t even know what you are trying to tell me. Stop yelling” I said quietly, not waiting to start anything.

I kissed the side if his head, then poked his hard forehead.

“You need to start controlling your bad temper.”

Kyle huffed in frustration and pulled my head in his crook of his neck.

“Why are you lying to me?”

“I’m no….”

“Bullshit” he interrupted.

“You are lying. Don’t think that you fully covered that red mark on you cheek with makeup, because I can still see it. Alright? I just want you to be honest with me. And I know you care, and you don’t want me to be concerned, but I love you and I can’t just not be unconcerned.”

I didn’t say anything after that.

I couldn’t say anything.

I didn’t know what to say, really.

When did he find out?

“Sorry….” I finally whispered.

I felt my heart race pick at the thought of what happened last night.

A lump formed inside my throat, as I felt myself blink more than three times to drive away the coming tears.

“What happened?” He finally said again.

“Who hit you? Because I know very well that you can’t slap yourself or anything…”

I shook my head.

“I don’t want to talk about it ” my voice came out barely above a whisper, and shaky but he heard me.

Kyle dug his head in my neck, so that he was cradling me really tight in his arms.

“Kiara, you need to tell me. If you don’t tell me, it won’t make me any happier or relieved. It’s only going to make me more stressed baby.”

The taste of my own salty tears frightened me.

As the flashbacks of the nights before came back to me, I didn’t realize a sob left my lips.

One after another, and then, I was full on crying.

What a way to make me feel weaker!

“Shh…” He cooed hushing me.

“I didn’t mean to say anything bad. I was just trying…trying to know…He touched me and ráped me. I didn’t even know who he was! Because it was so dark. But, he didn’t let go of me, kyle. I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to, I promise. But, you weren’t there. No one was. ”
