“It was way before I met you and Michael, okay?”
I smiled, trying hard to find a way out of the subject.
But, that was a lie.
I met kyle just around the time I met Michael, my boyfriend.
“Okay.” She nodded.
“So tell me, how is you and Michael?” She wiggled her eyebrows, biting her lip.
I sighed, glad she would change the subject.
Then, a giggle left my lips.
“We are doing pretty good, I guess.”
That was half true.
“We never got into any fights.”
“And I’m still pretty surprised he was so determined to keep our long distance relationship. I mean, I was all the way in New York this past year and him in Georgia. Just, there is so much going on.”
“Yeah, well, you should be glad. You are back together now and, he is been faithful and kept his word.”
Here comes the stomach churning.
“Are you alright?”
“Huh?” I snapped my head towards kiara.
“I’m sorry, what?”
“I asked if you were alright. You just seemed to zone out and look sick all of a sudden.”
I bit my lip.
“Ye…Yes. Why wouldn’t I be o-okay? I’m just ti…tired is all.”
Kiara squinted her eyes, suspicion growing in her deep brown orbs.
But, she later nodded, understanding.
I smiled, the guilty thoughts driving away from my head.
Then again, there is her fiancee.
Andrea don’t think about that.
You have Michael, and he is getting married.
“I missed you so much!” Kiara squealed, attacking me in a bear hug.
“We have to catch up! How about me, ke, Michael and you, go to the beach tomorrow afternoon?”
My smile faded once she mentioned kyle’s name.
“I don’t know…”
“Oh come on, Andrea” She pouted.
“We will have so much fun!”
Maybe, that’s one word that could help me get back what I want.
Slowly, my lips tugged upward, a lop-sided grin forming on my lips.
“Yes,” I began.
“I would love that.”
Kiara smiled big, clapping her hands together.
“Awesome! You won’t regret it, it will be amazing.” She ranted on, and held in the urge to scoff and roll my eyes at the irony.
It will be amazing, kiara.
But, I’m not going to be the one who will regret my own decision.
