Growing up in a compound house was a nice and great experience. That was where I found myself, no, I created myself there.
For those who do not know what a compound house is, it is a household where nuclear families live with extended families in one house. It is in that household that u will find uncle’s room and that of aunties as well.
Grandpa and Grandma are also not left out.
It’s rooms are mostly built conjoined to each other and it has this big space in the middle. This type of household, per my knowledge is found largely in parts of the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, the three northern regions, some parts of Eastern, Central and western Regions as well. Some parts of Nigeria like Lagos, Abuja, Benin and Kano States have this type of house setting.
