Jayden’s pov
Oh God! When last did I care for someone?
She winced a little. I removed the finger from the water.
“Sorry” I blurted out.
Did I just say sorry to her?
She stared at me for a while. “Thank you” She muttered and turned to the vegetables she was cutting.
She held the knife but I caught her hand.
“Don’t worry, I need to get your hand treated first.” I told her and held her wrist.
“You two look good together.” My mom beamed.
“Mom!”
“That’s it. I’m not lying.” She shrugged.
“Okay. Let me get her hand treated first.” I dragged Kimberly out of the kitchen to my room.
I made her sat on the bed, went ahead to look for the first aid kit which I kept in my wardrobe.
I brought it out and knelt on one knee in front of her. I took her hand, then the injured finger.
I applied some spirit.
It just a cut though. I took a cotton wool and a plaster and wrapped it around the finger.
“It’s okay now.” I said, standing up and set everything in order.
“Thank you.” She mumbled.
“Yeah.” I simply said.
I dropped the first aid kit back into my wardrobe.
Kimberly got up from my bed but her eyes caught something. Jessica’s picture.
“Who’s that?” She pressed her lips together.
“It’s none of your business okay?” I rolled my eyes at her.
“Am sorry, but she look beautiful. Is she your sister?” She asked another question.
“No, she isn’t. Don’t ask any questions again.” I warned. “Let’s go downstairs.” I added.
I followed her behind and watched her as she walks.
“You guys are back.” My mom said as we reached the kitchen.
“Yah.”

We cooked the dinner and we gathered around the table to eat. Including Sarah. She’s like a family too.
Kimberly insisted on serving which she did.
We began eating when Kimberly choked on her food but I was quick to give her water to drink. She drank it and faced me.
“Thank you jayden” Her lips stretched into a smile.
“Hmm….you have food at the side of your lips.”I took a napkin and cleaned it.
This made me remember Jessica. I really miss her. Her smile, laugh, beauty, body, hair and all that.
So much miss it.
