Driver’s mate arraigned for alleged abduction and defilement

A 19-year old driver’s mate, Mawuli Kllivia, on Friday appeared before the Takoradi Circuit Court “B” for allegedly abducting and defiling a 13-year old girl. He pleaded not guilty to the charge of  abduction of an unmarried female under 18 years and defilement and was remanded in prison custody to re-appear on March 11. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Felix Danku told the court presided by Mr Justice Michael Ntumy, that the accused is a driver’s mate at the Accra Station in Takoradi, whille the victim lived with her mother, Evelyn Kwegyir, at Abura Dunkwa. He said the victim went to Tarkwa in December last year to spend the Christmas with her father and in January this year, she left Tarkwa for Abura Dunkwa. Chief Inspector Danku said when she got to Takoradi, she went to the Accra Station to board a vehicle and there, she met the accused who proposed love to her. He said the accused took the victim to his house and bought food for her after she had taken her bath.
