Arranged Marriage With Mr Playboy – Episode 53

Kiara’s P.O.V

“Bye, Auntie” I murmured into my maternal Aunt’s honey-colored hair.

I had gone to visit Aunt Lilith today, considering she was leaving for New York in two days.

She was my mother’s older sister, and she had three kids.

My cousins, Anne, who was 15, Jarred, my older cousin who was 19, and Adam, 13.

Jarred was like my older brother, Desmond.

He was actually my second brother, he was always there for me when no one else was.

And I love him so much, I would miss him too.

I turned to Jarred, the last one to give my farewell too.

He opened his mouth to say something, but I cut him off by jumping into his arms.

“Hey,” He laughed softly.

“It’s only for a little while.”

I shook my head stubbornly, hugging him tighter.

“I will miss you.” I croaked out as I felt him bury his head in my neck.

“I know, I will miss you more.”

“But hey,” he began, still holding me.

“I will be back to stay in a few months, and I promise I won’t leave.”

I nodded hopefully in his reassurance.

“And…” he trailed off, smirking as he pulled away.

“For your wedding next summer too.” He tapped my nose lightly, not knowing how much my heart dropped when he said that.

“Jarred… I ”

“I know.” He cut me off.

“I know you don’t want this but, listen. If he ever hurts you, call me, tell me, okay?”

I nodded in response.

Jarred rolled my eyes.

“Knowing how stubborn you are, you won’t. So, you have to promise. Tell me, okay?”

“I I promise, Jarred.” I breathed, looking away from him.

He wrapped me in one last tight hug before letting go.

“Bye, I love you all!” I yelled, walking back to the driveway, where my car was.

“LOVE YOU TOO!” They shouted back.

“And you better bring me back some New Yorkian food, Jarred!” I threatened, giggling after word.

“We will see about that!” He shot me the finger carelessly, as his mother began to gasp and yell at him.

Laughing, I stepped into my car, watching as my aunt grabbed Jarred’s ear as if he were a little boy getting in trouble for pulling a girl’s ponytail.

Her scoldings to my cousin faded away while my car drove towards the horizon, away from the family.

Damn, I would miss them like hell…

~~~Back at Home~~~
I bit my lip, parking my car in the massive driveway, to the home my parents and Kyle’s parents had bought for us.
I ran my fingers through my hair.
Trudging forward to the front door carelessly……
