Bike Owner:
Yoo Quincy, yesterday I had a problem with the brakes of the bike so I went to the service centre to get it fixed but he rather made the front brake very sharp and the back brake isn’t working properly so please be careful when riding. I will take it back to the service centre upon your return so please don’t keep long in town.
Quincy:
Oh thanks, bro, you know am a smooth rider. We won’t stay much long in town so don’t worry at all. We will be back even before you expect us.
Bike Owner:
And please don’t forget to feed the bike with enough fuel oooo.
Michael Ansah:
Hahahahaha, don’t worry bro, insurance has covered you already, I will see to it that the bike is sorted out handsomely. We will see you later.
Back at Opana Lawyer’s office:
Lawyer:
Good afternoon and welcome to my office, please how may I help you?
Mr Addo:
Good afternoon, Opana, as he wants me to call him, sent me a text message with this chamber address in it, as a matter of fact, I’m here for us to do some signing of documents for some parcels of lands I want to acquire from him and with me here is my associate lawyer.
Lawyer:
Oh that is nice my brother, welcome once again and as you rightly said, Opana is my client and indeed we or should I say I since he is not in at the moment have been expecting your presence here this afternoon. Every document that needs to be taken care off has been sorted out so what I will do now is to give you copies of the documents so you go through and see if everything has been captured in its place before we proceed with anything.
Opana:
(walks into the office exchanging words with the secretary) You this girl you don’t respect at all, when were you employed into this office that you have the nerves to question me and what am coming to do here? Next time you will see the other side of me very well.
Secretary:
Sir I tried to stop him from entering but he refused to listen to anything I told him. I even told him you were having some people with you and you were having a meeting but he bluntly refused to listen to what I was telling him.
Opana:
Are you listening to yourself? Lawyer this girl is insolent and must be fired, I saw Mr Ansah and this man I presume to be his lawyer down there but because I was some distance away I couldn’t call them to wait for me so I quickly made a follow up which has brought this heavy sweat on my body and forehead but as your girl saw me she possibly thinks am coming to beg for money so she refused for me to enter even though I told her my intentions of coming over to this place. Or do you see me as a beggar who goes around disturbing and begging people for money?
Lawyer:
Mr Ansah sorry for what my girl did, actually today is her first day at this place and she is following orders that were given to her.
Opana:
But where is the other respectful lady who use to be at that desk?
Lawyer:
Oh she is on leave, her wedding is around the corner so I have given her some time off to go and prepare herself and her marriage ceremony but I must say this lady here is equally respectful like her predecessor so please take it easy with her. My dear, you can go back to your desk, I will call you in if I need any assistance from you. Mr Ansah, please take a seat and calm down, honourable men sorry for that display of distraction from my secretary.
Opana:
I’m also sorry for being late and creating a scene to announce my presence. Can we go straight to business now?
Lawyer:
Of course my brother, I had already given copies of the change of ownership documents to the buyer and his lawyer and as they were about to go through the documents, you popped up so take your copy and let’s all go through it if you see anything you don’t understand kindly raise awareness of it to me so I do the correction.
After minutes of vigorous scrutiny of the documents, they all agreed that the documents were indeed genuine but before they signed Opana raised some concerns towards that. He told the two lawyers that he had informed Mr Addo that he would do the signing at the bank so if they don’t mind they could all move to the bank and do the final phase of the deal.
Lawyer:
Mmmm, I’m sorry I can’t move out of this place because I have a meeting to hold here in my office in some few minutes.
Mr Addo’s Lawyer:
Well, my client didn’t tell me this earlier on and I also have a very important meeting with the board of directors of a company I represent so I will suggest this to everyone if we will be okay with my suggestion. The two lawyers will sign our portion of the documents so that when you finish with your deal then you two would also sign your part of the documents, how about that?
Opana:
I think am okay with your suggestion so go ahead and sign your part, when I and your client finish we will also sign our portion.
Mr Addo’s Lawyer:
Thanks for your understanding of my suggestion.
Both lawyers sign their part of the documents, Opana and Mr Addo then left to the bank to complete the deal.

Henrietta Barnor:
Gosh, I forgot to take the number of Mike, see how his face keeps popping up in my mind. Am in love with this guy I barely know anything about, I hope this is not lust that am feeling for him and I even went ahead to give him the most expensive asset I have ever had. I hope he also feels the same for me. (hears a knock on her door and ask the person to come in)
Henrietta’s Mom:
My dear we were waiting for you all night long for you to bring the groceries but you didn’t come and when you called with someone’s line your voice wasn’t sounding pleasing. Did you sleep in your boyfriend’s house for the first time?
Henrietta Barnor:
Hell no mummy, I told you until I get married to him I will never sleep at his end.
Henrietta’s Mom:
Okay so where did you sleep last night and I thought you went out with him last night?
Henrietta Barnor:
I slept at a friend’s end and for that idiot, I don’t ever want to have anything to do with him.
Henrietta’s Mom:
But why my daughter? You know he has been very supportive of this family ever since you introduced him to us. He is the one who rented this place for us, he has been paying our utility bills for us and even stocked my shop with textiles from all across the world.
Henrietta Barnor:
Mom, I am fed up with his arrogance, he doesn’t respect his fellow human because he is from a well to do family. He pretends to be nice and humble when he comes here but he is the most useless person I have ever known.
Henrietta’s Mom:
Is that so my dear but you can help change him along the line.
Henrietta Barnor:
Albert? Mom, forget it wai, if you are searching for the word arrogance and you meet Albert just go back because he is a perfect description of the word arrogance. Do you know he has been insulting me with the things he has been doing for us?
Henrietta Mom’s:
Is that so? But what was he thinking in the first place, does he know the amount of money your dad and I spent on you to get this far? Where was he when I was grooming you and moulding you to be a very beautiful woman that you have grown up to be? If he doesn’t know you are my investment, cocoa farm and gold mine pit, since he has been enjoying you through your legs I will also enjoy him from his pocket.
Henrietta Barnor:
Is that how you see me, mom? For your information, Albert has never seen my pant and he will never see it ever in his life, it is over between me and him.
Henrietta Mom’s:
Whaaaat? It is over how? Please don’t sell your colour tv and go in for a black and white tv, just give him a little time and I know he will change very soon. Who would take care of us if you break up with him and for me, I thought he had started mining the gold in between your legs.
Henrietta Barnor:
Then am sorry to disappoint you because am still a virgin and please learn to pay your own bills because at least he has stocked your shop with a lot of things that you are seen as the big woman at the place you sell your things.
Henrietta Mom’s:
But our rent is due to expire in three months time so how do we pay it?
Henrietta Barnor:
That is the reason why you are working Mrs Barnor, I don’t know what you have been doing with the money you get from your shop and if we are not able to pay the rent then be prepared for us to move back to the slum we came from. Now please excuse me because I want to catch some sleep now, am very tired so please don’t disturb me any further.
On the road:
Michael Ansah:
Guy, slow down a bit, we are still within the time frame that was given to us so take your time.
Quincy:
Don’t worry bro, you know I am a pro when it comes to racing, with this type of bike you must always ride it on a top speed if not the engine will develop a fault and it is very expensive to repair such bikes.
Michael Ansah:
Machines don’t know pros and people who are not, just slow down a bit before, hey hey watch out and apply the brakes……..
I smell trouble ahead…..
What do you think will happen next?
Did Henrietta talk to her mom well?
Is Henrietta’s mom been reasonable?
