HAVE I LOST MY WIFE TO ANOTHER MAN?

0

Dave and Clara have been married for over nine yrs without children. They stayed with each other and hoped that they will have a child before their 10th year of marriage, they were being persuaded by family and some friends to get a divorce but they couldn’t let go because of the love between them.

Months passed…by and while Dave was returning from work one day, he saw his wife walking down the road with a man and they looked happy. Another evening, while Dave was coming back from work, he saw the same man drop her off at the house.

Dave became angry and sad. Two days later, after a hectic day at work, Dave was taking water with a glass jug when the phone rang. He picked it up and the person said ‘hello dear, I’ll be coming to your house this evening to see you as promised. I hope …..’’ and the Dave hung up the phone.

It was a male voice. He was sure the person was the man he had seen with his wife. He suddenly became shaky with this thought, ‘’have i lost my wife to another man?’’ At that point, the glass jug fell from his hand and shattered into pieces. Then Clara came running into the room asking,

‘’Is everything okay?’’ In anger he gave his wife a push and she fell. She wasn’t moving or getting up. Dave then realised that she fell where he broke the glass jug and a large piece of glass has pierced her. He felt her breath, pulse and heartbeat but there she lay lifeless. His wife was dead.

In total confusion, he saw an envelope in her hand. He took it, opened it and was shocked by its content. It was a letter and it reads:

‘’ My loving husband, words cannot express how I feel, so i had to write it down. I have been going to see a doctor for over a week and wanted to be sure before I give you the news. The doctor confirmed it that I am pregnant with a twin and our babies are due in 7 months from now. The doctor also happen to be my long last brother whom I lost contact with after our marriage. He has promised to take care of me and our babies and give us the best without collecting a dime. He also promised to have dinner with us today. Thanks to you for standing by me…… your loving wife.

As the letter fell from Dave’s hand, there was a knock at the door and it was the same man he had seen with his wife… and he said ……’’ hello Dave, I suppose am right, am Max, your wife’s brother…..’’And suddenly he noticed his sister in the pool of her blood …. he rushed her to his hospital but it was too late, his sister, Dave’s wife was gone and so were the twins..

LESSON:

In our relationships, which include our marriage, we should not be too quick in reacting when we haven’t questioned our partner or spouse on what we saw or heard about them. Communication, Trust and Patience are rare gifts we can bring to our relationship. Not everything we see or hear or believe is right about them. And to every man or woman, i pray that patience will have her perfect stay in you that you may be perfect and wanting nothing because patience is that great virtue you need to keep your relationship

Congratulations! You have the interview you’ve been so desperate to get. Are the nerves kicking in now? If you have read my last article about Killer Interview Techniques you have nothing to worry about. You have done your research before you even applied for the role. You can already see that there is a good fit for your experience, and opportunities for you to continue to develop within this organisation. But how will you come across at interview?

The simple guide is, be yourself, but the yourself in 1 or 2 career progression phases time. Every potential employer wants to be able to envisage you in front of a client, or representing the business in the public eye. You don’t want to be “the one with the crazy tie” or “the lady with the Dame Edna glasses” after your interview. Forgettable attire, reduces distractions and places the emphasis on you. That goes for aftershave and perfume too!

Different industries have different requirements. A creative role gives you scope for more artistic flair over your attire, but please, keep it professional. Professional Services careers still really do still require that you are suited and booted. In 14 years of recruitment, I have never received feedback about a candidate being too smart. If you are interviewing for a plumbing role and arrive in a suit, to find the others in the waiting room in jeans, don’t be put off. You are demonstrating that you can step up. That you intend your career to go places, and that you’re in control.

So, print out the job description, and your CV. Transfer your research notes if you think you will need them, into a typed and printed document, and ensure that you have some blank paper and a pen to make further notes. Practice your route to the interview, ensuring that on the day, you can get there on time. Then, get ready early, leave home early, and if you are more than 15 minutes early, go for a walk, or go and get a cup of tea. (Avoid too much caffeine pre-interview).

Challenges hinder performance of Wa Methodist School for the Blind

The Wa Methodist School for the Blind is confronted with challenges that have affected academic performance of students and pupils of the school.

The Headmistress of the school, Miss Grace Amoakoh, mentioned the challenges as inadequate staff accommodation and the destruction of the school’s assembly hall in a fire outbreak in 2011.

Other challenges include the absence of streetlights, bad road network due to erosion, lack of potable water and poor sewage system.

“Work on the construction of three staff bungalows which were awarded on contract by the government since 2011 has been abandoned due to financial constraints, while the ceiling and roofing sheets of the headmistress’s bungalow leak profusely,”she said.

She was speaking at the 10th Education Week celebration service of the Wa Basic Schools, comprising the St Paul, Mangu Methodist and Methodist School for the Blind, at the Rev. Paul Adu Methodist Church in Wa in the Upper West Region last Sunday on the theme: “Holistic Education: The Role of Stakeholders.”

Enrolment
Miss Amoakoh said since 1958, the school, with a current enrolment of 220 pupils and students as well as a total of 74 members of staff, including 36 teachers, had enrolled over 5,000 students who have successfully passed out, adding that the school had been one of the best in the Wa Municipality, scoring 100 per cent in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the past years but experiencing a sharp decline recently.

She appealed to the government to ensure regular flow of the government’s grant which she said had not been forthcoming since April 2012, pointing out that some of the pupils were orphans and others staying with single parents and it was difficult for the school to cater for them.

Appeal to GETFund
She appealed to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and all well-meaning groups and individuals to come to their aid and also appealed to the government to provide them with a vehicle to ensure the smooth running of the school since some of the children needed to be transported to hospital almost every day for medication.

She, however, commended stakeholders, especially the government, for the provision of classrooms, teaching and non-teaching staff for their co-operation, and said in spite of the numerous challenges, they were working hard to improve the educational standard of the institution.

The Upper West Regional Manager of the Methodist Education Unit, Very Rev. Isaac Baah Yanney, asked parents to be concerned about the education of their children since that was the best legacy they could leave for the children.

He also advised the children to make use of their time to learn hard, show respect to the elderly in society in order to become responsible citizens, contribute to national development and extend assistance to others

700,000 Ghanaians are currently living with glaucoma, 250,000 of them not knowing they have the disease. Do you know your status?

The Vice-President of the Ophthalmological Society of Ghana, Dr Mike Gyasi, has expressed concern about the high cost of glaucoma drugs, indicating that it is the major reason why Ghanaians diagnosed with the disease are unable to access medical care.

At the launch of 2015 World Glaucoma Week in Accra last Tuesday, Dr Gyasi contended that a reduction in the cost of glaucoma drugs would enable patients to access medical care frequently.

According to him, more than 50 per cent of people diagnosed with glaucoma were unable to access medical help due to the high cost of glaucoma drugs.

NHIS cover

Dr Gyasi said one important step that supported the fight against glaucoma was for government to increase the number of glaucoma drugs covered under the National Health Insurance Scheme, since according to him, the three glaucoma drugs covered by the scheme were not enough to support the treatment of the disease, especially the severe type of glaucoma, which is Primary Open Angle Glaucoma.

Glaucoma is a disease that affects the eye and is the major cause of irreversible blindness worldwide.

In Ghana, an estimated 700,000 Ghanaians are currently living with glaucoma, 250,000 of them not knowing they have the disease.

Out of the number, 60,000 have already become blind.

The alarming statistics make Ghana one of the leading countries in glaucoma cases worldwide.

World Glaucoma Week

World Glaucoma Week is a global initiative spearheaded by the World Glaucoma Association and World Glaucoma Patients Association. This year’s event is being observed from March 8-14, with a call on governments, eye-care professionals and patient groups worldwide to participate in activities that will raise awareness and encourage the early detection of glaucoma.

This year’s awareness week is a partnership between the Glaucoma Association of Ghana (GAG), the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Ophthalmological Society of Ghana.

GAG awareness

The President of the Glaucoma Association of Ghana (GAG), Mr Harrison Abutiate, said the intensive awareness creation initiatives by stakeholders, including the GAG and Ministry of Health (MoH), had yielded fruit. He added, “Indeed, feedback from the public shows that at least 25 per cent of Ghanaians now know something about glaucoma or have heard about glaucoma and out of this number, at least 20 per cent have taken action to check their status.”

According to him, GAG’s research showed that most people living with glaucoma did not recollect the name after a visit to an eye-care facility. “That is why we have coined the name ‘Hinta Anifraye’ as the Akan name for glaucoma,” Mr Abutiate said.

In a speech read on his behalf, the Minister of Health, Dr Kweku Agyemang-Mensah, said the government was in the process of reviewing the essential drugs list.

Baby Born with Stigmata of Jesus Christ Attracts Thousands of Believers

A baby born with strange stigmata-like sores resembling the injuries suffered by the Christ during his crucifixion, is attracting a lot of attention from Christians across the Philippines. Thousands of faithful have already gathered around the Quezón City General Hospital, hoping to see the “blessed” child.

Jejomar Castillo was born on the morning of March 15, weighting 3.2 kilograms and bearing strange injuries on his face, hands and feet. These surprising sores are almost identical to the famous wounds suffered by Jesus, including the head wounds associated with the Crown of thorns and the wounds caused by the crucifixion itself.

According to one of the country’s top microbiological experts, Ph.D. Merlyn Cruz, the young boy suffers a very rare syndrome causing localised purpura, which is characterized by red or purple discolorations on the skin.

“I have to admit that this is an amazing case” says Doctor Cruz. “Only a handful of similar cases have been recorded throughout history, and it’s the first time on a baby, so the scientific knowledge accumulated about his pathology is very scarce. We are doing a series of tests to determine what these sores actually are and what is causing them to appear, but we have found nothing yet.”

The newborn boy bears wounds on his forehead, hands and feet. These sores bleed regularly and seem unable to heal completely.
Rumors of a “miraculous child” rapidly spread across the hospital, then across the city, and a large crowd rapidly gathered outside the boy’s room and even around the hospital. Within a matter of hours, thousands of people surrounded the building in silent prayer.

The crowd has now been there for two days, praying and chanting religious slogans like “Welcome to the Saviour” and “Thank you God for sending Jejomar“. Many of the people on the site seem to associate the birth of this enigmatic child with the biblical Return of Jesus Christ.

More than 15,000 people were gathered outside the Quezon City General Hospital, hoping to see the “blessed boy”.

The most famous case of stigmata in modern history, is certainly that of Pio of Pietrelcina, commonly known as Padre Pio, who was a friar, priest and mystic of the Roman Catholic Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. He became famous for bearing the stigmata for most of his life and is now venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church.

Dozens of other cases of stigmata have been reported over the centuries, but none of them concerning a newborn child. This unique condition has already attracted a lot of attention on Jejomar and his family, and it seems the enthusiastic Christians who have gathered around the hospital are already calling him a saint. The young Jejomar Castillo, therefore, really seems condemned to have a very different life than most Filipino child.
