I told Amara all about the new plans I had for kelvin but unfortunately she wasn’t too pleased with it.
“I’m not against you helping someone in need, but doing it for love or to get something in return is what I won’t approve. I need not to go further in this silly idea of yours” she said with a smile, expertly waving the topic aside. I paid no heed to her and went ahead with my plans
I travelled to Abuja days later and met Maj. Gen. Johnson who was a family friend and a very influential Army officer. He had strong connections with the ruling class and was in a good position to help. I presented Kelvin’s case to him and had a hard time convincing him to help. He finally agreed after striking a deal with me. Three weeks later, kelvin got a very lucrative position at the federal ministry of finance. To him It was a dream comes true. The love we made the night we got the news really was very stunning. He took me to paradise a hundred times over.
“you are more than an angel” he kept whispering in my ear all through the night. ____ He left for Abuja days later with his hopes, plans and expectations on the high side. I made sure he had everything he needed, virtually paying for all of them. Our relationship continued as I hoped, We spoke almost every hour and we equally visited each-other as often as possible. Each visit revealed how well he was doing for himself.
In the first week of December 2009, he was used on a money laundering scheme {which really was the deal I struck with the Army General months back with my position as surety. It was because of the laundering scheme that he got the job in the ministry of finance}. He returned a week later with his share of the loot. A very substantial amount which could make a bank manager gasps with wonder. He came running back to me, full of gratitude and love, surprising me with stunning gifts which left me totally happy.
Everything was going as I wanted. I was so happy, very happy. He proposed the next day, Sending my happiness to the limit. “will you marry me?” he asked as we showered together after a night of passion. I couldn’t believe my ears, “huh?” I murmured, cleaning my face with speed. I opened my eyes to see a well shaped golden ring greeting me with its sparkle.

You scared me”, i flinched and covered my mouth after i said that.
“No need to be alarmed Audrey. I just want to thank you for your tremendous effort in keeping the house after my wife left. Audrey!!!!! my wife and i have seperated”. He confessed holding his head down. Feigning surprise; i gasped and mumbled some condolence as if he had lost her forever.I managed to assure him that i wouldn’t let down BUT what could i really do for this man to gain my attention in the positive way, i wasn’t just going to sit here and cook for nothing, there was something i longed for. I loved him; i bet its not infatuation. I wanted to take care of him and wipe his tears away.but whenever i think of it, something tells me i don’t measure up to his standards.
Am 20 years,,him 40. He even looked more energetic and younger for his age. something stirred up in me whenever i saw him bare chested. Those strong muscles had something in them; some form of fire, some form of exuberance. I longed to touch and feel them.
This friday evening, Mr Duncan has promised to take the kids out for dinner at the Movenpick hotel. I was earlier asked to join and in which i whole heartedly accepted even though i didn’t show off. As i stood infront of the mirror; i crossed checked my pink dress which truimphantly matched my pink round ear rings. The dress perfectly revealed my contours and i had no doubts that it would do wonders.
As i gracefully descended the stairs like Queen Elizabeth; i saw the kids chatting heartily with their dad beside the car. They stopped in between the conversation and shot me a surprise glare: Mike was the first to comment, his blue eyes popping out:
” Aunt Audrey; you look great”. He called out and looked up expectantly at his dad. Before i could utter a word, i heard “My love” utter something bewildering
.”Audrey!! You look astounding in pink”. Ow please………. Did he really say that ? I blushed and thanked him. I couldn’t look him up in the face but i felt him smiling.
As the car speed off; the kids heartily hummed Stonebuoy’s hit song “Higher” at the back seat. I was comfortably seated at the front seat looking out into the window
Frankly speaking Audrey, i never considered your beauty until my wife left.” he said and pierced into my eyes. My body went numb after i heard that. “With that hour glass shape, i bet you can be a model”, he continued and negotiated a u-turn. When he looked back at me, i saw something like love in his eyes. ” i have a surprise for you tonight”. He said and looked on. Owww God!!!! What could that be?
