Rick got startled by the question she asked.

“Yes. What happened? How come you never spoke of it? Were you afraid that I’d blame you for my predicament?”

“No, Ana… No… Please let me expl.”

“Well… Interestingly, looks like I scribbled down something that morning in the taxi before the accident occurred.” Ana interjected.

She began to read from the diary.

“20th April… I so wanted to feel like a princess today… I wanted Honey Bunch to drive me to work, but I didn’t get that (**sad face**). He was tired, he said… And so got me this cab I’m in right now. And to this driver, I’m just a passenger… No ‘princessa’ treats. I ju….”

She lifted her eyes and looked at his startled face.

“Looks like I couldn’t complete it. I guess that was when the accident happened.”

Rick saw sadness and hurt in her eyes.

“Am I a good person to blame you for what happened to me that day? Probably I could say that if you had taken me to work, I wouldn’t have been in that fatal accident… I wouldn’t have lost my memory to become a burden to you right now”

“No Ana… You aren’t a burden to me okay?”

“Rick you so make me feel like I am!”

“Ana… No… Please listen to me!”

“Wait … it’s worrisome right? That I don’t remember anything, and I don’t even remember what it means to be your wife! I can’t remember your favorite meals! We live as strangers as supposed to husband and wife! Tell me if it doesn’t bother you… Tell me!” she demanded almost in tears.

“Yes it does…” He replied. “It does because I’m confused, and… And I don’t know how to relate with you… I’ve become withdrawn because I am afraid of hurting you. I know it’s no fault of yours. And yes at times I blame myself for all this. I just wish that all this could be undone Ana. But now I’m so afraid of hurting you and losing you.”

“Maybe we should end it all Rick…Maybe we should seperate…. It may be easier for us both that way. Then it won’t be a struggle for you since I won’t make you feel anymore like you’re with a ‘stranger!”

“No! No Ana! You’re my wife and that hasn’t changed!”

“Please Rick… A lot has changed” Ana said tearfully

“Ana… Please listen to me… I love you and that hasn’t changed! And I’m ready for us to make this work! I’m sorry for not being able to handle this situation well, but i don’t want to lose you! I love you Ana… Only death can separate us ” he said drawing near to her.

“And God is a witness to our marriage. He will help us.”

“How can you live with a stranger Rick?” Ana asked still in tears.

“Ana. You’re not a stranger to me. You’re my love! My wife! I’m not giving up on you! Bae! Please forgive me.” he said to her, but Ana continued to shed tears.

“What if I don’t ever recover, Rick?”

“Honey… Come here” he said to her as he hugged her and wiped her tears. Ana held onto him.

“What if I don’t recover?”

“Ana… Its okay… Its alright… God’s gonna help us, my love! We’ll learn to love each other and know each other again! And I promise to commit to make it work, my love! I promise.”

“You promise?” Ana asked as she lifted up her head and looked into his eyes.

“Yes my love! I’m gonna count on God’s grace. I’ll be here for you! Honey… We ain’t gonna give up on each other….You won’t feel estranged anymore! Love will see us through Ana! Love is gonna see us though!”
THE END

1 Corinthians 13
“Love endures long and is patient and kind…it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]… Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]… Love never fails”
