Previously On Dirty Diana
“We are going on a camping trip! For a week!!!”
I loveeeee camping, the girls and I used to go camping.” I said while sitting down on one of the couches besides Eric
“Yeah we’d always have lots of fun, just being in the nature and how beautiful it is. ” Diva said. She sat down next to Paa Kwesi
They would be a good couple, I should get them together.
“That’s good cause Diva doesn’t start dance till next week and I got the week off!!!” I said.
“Everything works out then …. wait Diva you dance?.” Paa Kwesi asked looking at her.
“Yeah i do jazz, contemporary, ballet and i do a little hip-hop and salsa!!!” she said blushing and twiddling with her hands.
“Wow salsa? I
Flash Back To Her High School Life
“Hi,” I said softly
“Would you like to introduce yourself to the class?” he asked me, giving me a wide smile.
“Sure,” I said nodding. “Well before this I was home schooled, but before that I did go to a private school. My name’s Diana, but you all can call me Dee if you want.”
“Hey, I’m Kojo.” Even though I didn’t want to, I turned and saw him smiling at me and holding out his hand for me to shake.
Wow, he’s being nice to me for once.
“Funny story, you have the same first name as someone I knew before,” he said chuckling a little, wanting to continue the conversation.
That got me interested. “Really now?” I asked my eyebrows raising a little.
“Yeah, her name was Diana, but she moved
“Why did she move?” I asked pretending to be curious, not showing that I already knew the answer to that.
“Don’t really know.” He shrugged. “But it was good that she did anyways.”
He thought about it for a while before he finally answered,
“Just never liked her.”
“Hey I was wondering, do you want to have lunch with me today? I can show you around since you’re new and all,” he asked grinning confidently.
“Great, meet- Wait… did you just say no?” His eyes widened a little as he stared at me. Yep, he has never been rejected before.
“Yeah, what about it?” I
As I headed out the door I bum into someone.
I looked up to see Jason. I froze in place and stared at him.
“Um sorry,” I said apologizing,
“That’s fine,” he said, before walking away as quickly as possible.
What just happened? Did Jason just walk away without stopping to talk,
I bumped into someone today, I opened my mouth to apologize when I caught a glimpse of her.
“Um, sorry,” she said, biting her lip.
I was shocked to say the least, so I said the first words that came to my mind. “That’s fine,” I replied before rushing away from her, my pulse racing.
I would know that face anywhere, it just had to be her. But I thought she wasn’t coming back. At least that’s what Diva said… I took a deep breath and wished I was alone, when I first heard from Diva that Diana wasn’t coming back, I was very disappointed and heart broken. I never told anyone this, but I’ve been in love with her ever since we were little kids. And now she’s back after I ‘rejected her’. Hmmmmmm

“Mommy, can I go play by myself? I’m a big boy now,” I asked my mommy, begging her with a face. Mommy could never say no to me when I gave her “the face”.
“Sure honey,” she said, leaning down towards me, “but don’t go too far, I don’t want you getting lost now.”
“Alright mommy!” I said, leaning up and giving my mommy a kiss on the cheek.
Turning around, I took in my surroundings. I was in this really huge park! With a big pond, little duckies, and pretty swans. I wanted to feed them so badly, but mommy said not to go near the pond without her.
Giving the duckies and swans one last glance, I headed over to the sandbox. Next to feeding the duckies, my favorite thing to do at the park was building huge sandcastles in the sandbox.
Taking a huge jump into the sandbox, I landed in the soft sand. I grabbed the bucket and the shovel that was placed in the corner of the sandbox and began scooping up some sand into the bucket. When the bucket was piled up high with sand, I began building my pretty sandcastle, pretending that I was the prince that lived inside the huge castle.
Mommy always tells me that I was her little prince, and someday I would find my own special princess, but so far I haven’t found her yet.
“Hey, can I play with you?” someone asked.
I was giving my sandcastle some finishing touches so I wasn’t really paying attention to the girl’s voice.
“Sure,” I told her anyways. Mommy always said to be nice to girls.
“Thanks,” she said taking a seat next to me. “My name is Diana, what’s yours?”
“That’s a nice name,” she said.
Mommy always said that when someone gives you a compliment, you give one back to them.
“Thanks, I like yours too,” I said, smiling down at my good job!
“Thanks! So what are you doing?” she asked, probably staring at my sandcastle that was at least six feet high!
“Building a….” I began, but stopped when I glanced at her face for the first time. She was so pretty, with long hair, and bright blue eyes. She had the cutest smile ever, and she was smiling at me! Mommy, is she my princess?
“Building what?” she asked, tilting her head to the side a little, acting even more cute!
“Um…uh…a…uh…a c-castle,” I said, stuttering while staring into her clear blue eyes.
“Really?” she asked, her blue eyes shining with excitement. “Can I help?”
“S-sure,” I nodded eagerly.
We worked together for the next few minutes or so, trying to finish the sandcastle. After it was done, it stood tall and proud. It was like one of those real castles you find in those story books!
“It’s done!” she exclaimed loudly, giving me her cute smile.
“Yeah! I can’t believe we finished it! It looks amazing,” I said, my lips turning up, forming a big smile.
“It does,” she said eyeing the castle with pride. She turned back towards me. “So Jason, how old are you?” she asked.
“I’m seven years old!” I grinned, holding up seven fingers.
“Really? I’m six years old!” she said, doing the same thing and showing me six of her small fingers.
“Yeah, what year were you born in?”
“Me too! What school do you go to?” Please say my school, please!
“I think it’s called State Experimental or something,” she said, trying to remember her school name. “I heard my parents talking about that name before.”
Yes! She goes to my school. “You must be new right?” I asked. I mean, I think I would remember my own little princess.
She nodded. “Yeah, my family just moved here last week.”
Yay! Thank you Diana’s parents! I said to myself “Cool, so I guess we’ll be seeing each other a lot then?” I asked hopefully. I didn’t want this to be the last time I talked to her.
“Of course!” she said right away.
“Dee time to go!” a guy yelled loudly at her.
“Who’s that?” I asked her
“My brother,” she answered, getting up from the spot next to me. “Well I guess I’ll see you later,” she said, waving goodbye as she headed towards her brother.
I stared at her as I was debating to call her one last time. Finally I just screamed out, “Diana!”
They stopped, and she turned around, giving me her adorable smile. “Yeah?”
She giggled a little, calling out “Bye Jay!”
Jay? I kind of like that. It’s cute, just like her. I’m her Jay.
“Jason! Come here, it’s time to go,” my mommy called from the picnic benches.
“okay!” I yelled, taking one last glance at our castle before running over to her.
“Did you have fun sweetheart?” Mommy asked me as I appeared in front of her.
“Yeah!” I exclaimed. “I built a huge sandcastle!” I told her, showing her with my hands how big and wide it was.
“That’s nice sweetie,” she said, patting my hair. “Who was that girl you were with?”
“Um, no one!” I squeaked out, blushing slightly. I hoped my mommy didn’t see that….
“Whatever you say, sweetheart,” she said, grinning like one of those kitty cats. It was a bit weird if you asked me.
“Jason! Massa pay attention!” Yaw said, snapping me out of my daydream.
“I am!” I shouted back at him.
“Sure,” he said chuckling and rolling his eyes at me as he went back to talking to some chick.
Damn! I can’t believe I was daydreaming about that! I haven’t even thought about that since the incident
Soon, my morning classes will be done and over with. So far, no one has noticed it was me yet besides my teachers, but I told them not to say my last name. They all understood and kept quiet about it, which I was really grateful for.
Finally the beginning of lunch arrived, and I was just hoping that Diva remembered to meet me like she promised me before.
As I headed out I saw her, grinning and rocking out to her music.
“Hey!” I called, picking up my pace to try to get to her faster.
As soon as she saw me, she attacked me with one of her hugs. “Dee, I missed you!” she said as she placed her head on my shoulder.
Laughing, I hugged her back. “Diva, you just saw me first period. You couldn’t have missed me that much.”
“But I did! You’re my best friend, of course I would miss you so soon,” she said as she was still giving me her bone-crushing hug.
“Sorry!” she apologized and let go of me quickly, afraid she really hurt me.
“Don’t worry about it,” I dismissed.
“Ready for lunch?” I asked
“Yes! I’m starving!” she exclaimed cheerily.
Smiling at her, I nodded as we both headed towards the dining hall, as we opened the doors and everything was like it always had been, each having their own little tables to sit at.
“Does the food still taste like crap?” I asked, hoping it didn’t.
“Yup, same as always,” she said, shrugging her shoulders.
“Great!” I said rolling my eyes. It’s been a year and they still couldn’t change the food? You would think a famous school like this would have decent food, but nope, it was like any other school’s.
After waiting in line for what felt like hours, we finally got our lunch, as we began walking to the table, Kojo stopped us.
“Hey Diana, why don’t you sit with us?” he asked, pointing towards the middle table with his friends
“I told you no, remember?” I asked, raising my eyebrows at him.
“Of course I remember, but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t have changed your mind by now,” he replied as cocky as ever, smirking at me.
“Sorry but I’m sitting with my friend today, so if you would excuse us,” I said and grabbed Diva’s hand, stepping around him.
I felt someone grab my bag, stopping me from walking any further. “Please?” he begged, almost pleading me with his blue eyes.
“No, and let go,” I told him, giving him my best death glare.
I guess it didn’t work, since he continued talking. “And what if I don’t want to?” he asked playfully.
Sighing, I turned around to look at Diva. “Can you bring my lunch with you and save me a seat?
I’ll be right there.”
“Sure.” She nodded her head at me and took my lunch in her other hand, glaring at Kojo one last time before she turned on her shoes and walked away.
“You don’t want me angry,” I told him, growling a little.
“Oh yeah? And what are you going to do about it dumb?” he asked, challenging me.
Oh it’s on! No one gets away with calling me dumb, especially him.
“This,” was all I said, giving him a powerful kick in the knee.
He went down, screaming in pain, and grabbing a hold of his hurt knee. Serves him right!
“What was that for?” he screamed, getting up from the ground. Trying to balance on his good foot, he hopped over to me.
“You had it coming, and you know it.”
After giving me a look that I couldn’t read, he finally sighed. “Fine, go, but you have to sit with me tomorrow,” he commanded.
“Sure I will,” I said rolling my eyes at him. Like hell I will.
Turning around from that jerk of a guy, I headed toward Diva’s table. “Sorry about that,” I told her as I slid into the seat across from her.
“It’s fine! I got a good laugh when I saw you kick him.” she giggled, giving me a high five. “Now! Onto more important things; what do you need to tell me?”
At first I was a little confused, but then I finally figured out what she was asking. “Oh yeah! My plan,” I said, grabbing my lunch that was placed next to hers.
“What plan?” she questioned confused
My plan for revenge on Kojo and Rachel, remember?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at her. Did she forget already?
“That plan!” Her brown eyes were sparkling with excitement. “Tell me!” She started bouncing up and down on her seat like a little kid as she waited for me to continue.
“Well first I need to know, is He dating anyone?”
“Yeah. He’s dating Rachel.”
“Interesting.” I nodded to myself. “This is going to work out even better than I’d hoped,” I said, grinning widely.
“Well, you see, my plan was to break Kojo’s heart.”
“And how are you supposed to do that?” she asked confusedly around a mouthful of chicken.
“I’ll hang out with him, make him fall for me, then crush him in front of everyone once he says “I love you.” Humiliating him, just like he did to me at the party.”
“You’re going to date him!” she exclaimed loudly, turning a few kids’ heads towards us.
“Quiet,” I said, hushing her. “I don’t want people to know, and no, I’m going to pretend to.”
“What about Rachel, he’s dating her.”
“That’s why it’s going to work even better now. Since Rachel is dating him, taking him away from her will crush her too, so it’s going to be perfect!”
“Right, but how do you know he’ll fall for you and say that he loves you?”
“I don’t.” I shrugged. “But I do know that he has already taken a liking to me, so that’s a start.”
She nodded. “Okay, and when does this plan of yours start?”
“Not now,” I told her, finally digging into my lunch. “Soon though.”
“I think that’s good then,” she said. “Just make sure to tell me when it starts so I can watch!”
